I was looking back over all of my postings and realize I am back around to the whole Civics topic. This year I will be teaching 7th grade Civics. So, take a moment and try the quiz. See if you know your country's info. It is a fading knowledge.

I am not good at keeping up with this. I am very busy, usually with random things, probably things that don't really matter. I am very busy with all the new stuff my sister has gotten me interested in, postcrossing and swap-bots. There are so many really cool things to do out there.

New Day

So, what do you think about the Grammy's? the new President? the Bail out? Pink boots? Deciduous trees?  The Aztec, Inca and Maya???  

Just some thoughts to ponder.  I think time moves very fast and we have very little time to think. My mouth hurts, my son is home (I can hear his car stereo) my cat is a lunatic and I am tired.  So, by all means write back and tell me what you think and ponder on.   

New Year coming

A new year is coming and I hope life is good.  I don't have many thoughts or ponderings.  Please send comments and thoughts.  I will try to come up with more. soon.

Civics?!

Are we really a Failing Nation?  Here is a Civics Quiz.  They say that the average score is less than 50% even with college grads.  Not that I'm perfect, but come on people!  We should know this stuff!!  The people trying to come into our country know more about our history than we do.  That is sad.  There was an article in the Tampa Tribune about this with a link to the quiz.  

(I got 81% on it, not great but better than average!)  Of course I should ace it, since I teach some of that stuff.  We should be proud to be Americans and therefore know our history!!  If we don't, it can easily be taken away from us!!! Knowledge can never be taken away if you hold on to it!!! 

books

I love books!  I just love the idea of knowledge, information and dreams in a little package thrills me.  I feel smarter just owning them, even if I don't get them read all the way.  So, needless to say I love going to Barnes & Nobles, Borders or Books a million!  It is like an oasis! Life is good!!! =)

a Band-aid won't fix it

I miss the days when I could fix everything with a Band-aid and a kiss!!!  I have a darling young lady that I wish I could put a Band-aid on and make it all better.  It is soooo hard to know what to say and do to help teenagers.  I am always at a loss.  I want to help make her get better!! I know it was had with my son, too!  Say a prayer for my little darling!  =)
